The Collective

Wouldn't it be great to assemble a collective group of film enthusiasts, surfers, ragers, and all around solid dudes to travel the world and document everything along the way? This would be an innovative concept except I think it may have already been done.
If you haven't heard about the Modern Collective, here's the scoop. With director Kai Neville at the helm, and the surfing talents of Dane Reynolds, Jordy Smith, Dusty Payne, Dion Agius, Mitch Coleborn, and Yadin Nicol, Modern Collective sounds like a sure fire success, but what if I were to tell you that it is possible to follow this film on a day-to-day, trip-to-trip basis. You might say that I have taken one too many to the head, but the truth is this film is a living, breathing, creation, that is constantly evolving, and bringing all of its fans along for the ride. The Modern Collective blog allows fans to follow the process of shooting, and give some input themselves. One post awhile back asked fans to send in music, so the film would have a wide variety of music to keep all the viewers happy. Being able to be a part of this film is awesome, and being able to follow it all the way through production and post is pretty sweet too. It seems like a never ending saga, even though they have started to storyboard the intro of this bad boy in the studio, it is not quite in the can, more shooting will proceed later this month, just adding to the sensation of how this film lives in the present tense, always looking ahead to the future.
